Beauty / Chronic Illness / Chronic Pain

It’s ok to be a glow stick…

I love this quote (see picture) and it’s so true. Often out of hardship, we will rise and shine brighter then ever before . Sometimes we truly must break before we realise our true inner strength, beauty and ability.

Just like a glow stick, pretty average at first but once you snap it, that’s when the magic and beauty happen.✨✨

Never let what’s going on in your world define you, believe in yourself and believe that things will get better.πŸ€—πŸ€—

I don’t mean get better in the physical sense of the word. Things will get better by becoming easier and simpler to manage. You will develop coping mechanisms and the ability to keep going no matter what life has to throw at you.

A major life change causes a complete change of routine and life as you once knew it. That doesn’t have to mean the change is a bad thing.

With each change comes the chance of a new beginning, a fresh start and a new version of you. Use this change to create the beginning, not the end.πŸ“πŸ“

My moto is, “if I can’t work, I’ll learn’ so think deep about all the things you’ve ever wanted to learn and go for it.πŸ“•πŸ“—πŸ“˜πŸ“š

I work part time from home but I still had time to spare. ⏰⏰Time that needed to be filled Β because I needed the distraction from all the health issues going on in my life. If I’m not busy, I get very down and this has a negative impact on my health.

I am now busier than ever! I work part time from home and I’m studying to become a Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for the next three years. I also work with beautiful make up and skin care products from home doing online makeup demos, consultations, make overs and home parties and I show other people how they can happily work from home gaining more time to do the things they love too. 😍😍

I run an awareness page about birth trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, post natal depression and all the various chronic illness and pain conditions.πŸ“±πŸ“πŸ“¦

I also set up a support group linked to the awareness page and the Twitter and Instagram accounts of same name. This group is for Mums suffering from mental, physical and painful chronic conditions and we all support each other through the bad and the good. Life long friendships have been made within this group, the members are such a wonderful bunch of brave, strong and inspirational ladies. πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸ‘ΈπŸ½

If you need this support please get in touch, if you have Facebook, I can add you to the group. I alsoΒ run this blog alongside a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account of the same name.

I literally never stop and I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy! Busy is good though as it keeps your mind active when your body can’t be.πŸ’—πŸ’—

If you have to spend lots of time at home and it gets you down being alone when everyone else is at work or the kids are at school, think about something you’ve always wanted to do.✍🏼✍🏼️

If you are good at arts and crafts, people earn a living from selling their creations on sites such as Folksy, Etsy and even EBay. I’m very arty but have always struggled to find the time to create any work. If this is like you and you now have time on your hands, go for it!🎨🎨

Other fun things you could do at home are things like cake decorating/baking and advertising via a Facebook business page. Someone will always need a birthday or special occasion cake so you will never be out of business. πŸŽ‚πŸ°You can even get a qualification in this area. If you can get out and about to a college, these type of classes will usually be in the evening or at the weekend. You will meet new friends πŸ‘«πŸ‘πŸ‘¬and have a new focus to life. You will be less focused on everything you have lost, instead you will be focused on everything you have to gain.🍾🍾

You could train as a Nail Tecnician, it’s a job that you can sit down at. You could also work from home or if you can get out and about, in a salon or visiting people’s homes.πŸ’…πŸΌπŸ’…πŸΌ

You could train as a florist 🌹🌷🌺🌻🌼🌸 and make your creations at home.

You could write your first book or start blogging like me. πŸ’»πŸ“±

There are so many options, the possibilities are endless and once you experience life changing illness or injury, the one thing you have on your hands is time, especially if you have had to give up life as you knew and loved it.πŸ’—πŸ’—

This is not the end, you still have so much more to give. You just have to find another way of giving it. The most important thing to remember is not to give up.πŸ†πŸ…

Be a glow stick and show everyone how brightly you can shine when the world perceives you to be broken!🌠🌠
