There are so many serious issues in the world and for many of us, myself included, day to day life can be a struggle.
I am a Spoonie and for those of you that aren’t sure what this means, have a little read of the following by clicking the link; 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
This is where the name “Spoonie” came from and I guessed as we need our spoons to get through the day, we may as well fill them with glitter, (hence the name of the blog, Spoonfuls of Glitter!)
If you would like to know more about me,what I have been through and why I am no longer able to physically work in the beauty Industry, please feel free to visit my awareness page by clicking the link below; 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Before my current health problems I’d previously worked in the beauty industry for 18 years. Salons, spas, 💆🏼running my own salon for seven years, beauty counters💄💄and training with many of the leading products and equipment in the industry.
I’ve gained a wide spectrum of experience and I absolutely loved my job. 💗💗I also studied for three years to teach and then sadly due to health reasons, had to stop and this was gutting! I needed something to keep me moving forward, something I could do from home. 🏡
I decided I wanted to help others like me, others who had experienced life changing illness both mentally and physically and/or injury. 👩❤️👩
These types of BIG life changes do not come with a manual and can be very hard to accept. One minute you are able bodied, living life to the full and the next, you get worn out taking a shower, need a wheelchair for activities out of the house or crutches or a stick or you are so traumatised you can no longer leave your home.
For me, the part I found the hardest was realising that I was still me! My crutches and wheelchair did not or do not define me, they are only part of me, I am STILL me and I promise…..you are STILL you!👸🏼
YOU are capable of so much, even more than before and this blog is all about showing you how!🙌🏻
I am currently studying Hypnotherapy and next year Psychotherapeutic Counselling, I want to be able to help people overcome and accept life changes on a much deeper level. 💗
I am so excited about the future and although life has taken some unexpected turns, I’ll make sure I find my path again! 🏃🏼♀️
This attitude keeps me strong and helps me brush off the bad days. 💪🏻I try to see my health problems as a temporary inconvenience that someday I will be free of. I won’t ever be free but I will of found ways to adapt my life and this has already begun. I want to share this with others who may be feeling like all is lost. My studying and training will take three years to complete, this is fine but I wanted a way to help people now. 👱🏻♀️👩🏻👵🏻
I decided to create a blog dedicated to day-to-day life, fun, girlie inspiration, hair, makeup, fashion and lifestyle tips and advice! 💅🏼👠👛👄🕶👡💄
You will notice, some posts are aimed towards others who may have limited mobility and various health problems and difficulties. ♿️
These posts are based on my own experiences and discoveries in the hope they may shed light for someone possibly going through a difficult time or in need of inspiration and ideas. However, if there is something you would like me to share, message me and I will happily share away for you….as long as it’s nothing detrimental to the feelings and thoughts of the people following. I can’t post anything that may cause offence.
l also run my own work from home business (perfect for me while I study and cope with bad and painful days!) I work with the most beautiful skincare and makeup products, all 💯cruelty free, PETA approved 🐰, fragrance free, dermatologically tested and paraben and toxin free. If you would like to know more, send me a message and I’ll happily share my new venture with you. I’m also here if you need any skin care or makeup tips or advice. I
I get to play with beautiful products, recommend products, demonstrate products, complete make overs and help people with skincare and make up concerns daily. This is all done from the comfort of my own home. I also get to source amazingly beautiful things to not only share in this blog but also on my Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts! I’m back in my comfort zone, doing what I do best and I couldn’t be happier!! 💄💅🏼
I also run a private support group for Mums in pain due to illness or birth trauma injury and mentally and emotionally hard times following trauma. It’s such a lovely group and we are all there for each other. We rant, we cry and we cheer each other up when life gets us down. If you are in need of this support and want to join us, please reach out and message me. Please do not suffer in silence at home, one woman can make a difference but together, we can conquer the world!
I hope I can make the world a little more sparkly for us all!✨✨✨✨✨✨
